kappi vs Darwinex: Which Verified Track Record Is Actually Yours?

Darwinex Zero and kappi both sell a verified track record for a monthly fee. The difference is custody: Darwinex Zero records the trades you place inside their virtual account, on their platform, under their terms. kappi records commits you make from any broker and anchors the proof publicly, so it survives kappi.

What does Darwinex Zero actually give you?

A membership from €45 a month, a virtual trading account, and a track record their system scores and can allocate real investor capital against. You do not need trading capital — the membership is the cost. Their allocation model charges a 20% performance fee on third-party profit, of which 15% goes to the trader and 5% to Darwinex.[1]

That is a genuinely good product, and it does something kappi does not do at all: it can end with someone else's money in your strategy. If your goal is an allocation, that is the point, and no amount of cryptographic proof substitutes for it.

So why would you use kappi instead?

Because the two products answer different questions. Darwinex Zero answers "can this strategy earn an allocation from Darwinex?" kappi answers "can a stranger confirm you said this before it happened?" — and the second question is the one a prop firm, a partner or a subscriber is actually asking when they ask for a track record.

Three structural differences follow from that.

Where the trading happens

Darwinex Zero records what you do inside their virtual account. That is what makes the record trustworthy to them, and it is also the constraint: your real brokerage, your real instruments and your real position sizes are not what is being recorded. kappi is broker-agnostic. Commits are made from the Chrome extension, so any brokerage works — or your own journal, kept wherever you already keep it. No import, no account linking, no requirement to trade inside someone else's platform.

Which brokers does Darwinex Zero connect to?

None, and that is by design rather than by omission. There is no broker link, no investor password and no import — you trade a Darwinex Zero virtual account on MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 or TradingView.[2] So if you trade at Robinhood, Webull, TradeStation or Interactive Brokers, none of that trading can appear in a Darwinex Zero record; you would be starting a second, separate trading life inside their platform.

The instrument list follows the same shape. Forex, indices and commodities are available on all three platforms, and stocks and ETFs on MetaTrader 5 only.[2] US equity options — the thing a large share of retail traders actually trade — are not offered at all. kappi has no connection to make, so what you can record is whatever you can write down: any broker, any instrument, options included.

Who holds the proof

A record held inside a platform belongs to that platform: it is shown on their terms, and it does not travel if the account closes or the company does. kappi anchors the Merkle root publicly, so the proof outlives kappi — anyone can verify the log without kappi's cooperation, and the record stays yours.

This is not a claim about anyone's intentions. It is a question about what happens if an account closes, a jurisdiction changes, or a company stops operating — and the answer is structural. A record hosted by a company is available for exactly as long as that company chooses to host it. A Merkle root published to a public ledger is checkable by anyone, forever, with no cooperation from kappi at all.

Jurisdiction

Darwinex is the trading name of Tradeslide Trading Tech Ltd, a UK company authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under FRN 586466.[3] Which of their products you can actually open depends on where you live. kappi does not hold your money, does not execute anything, and is not a broker — so there is nothing to be eligible for.

What stops someone running ten accounts?

Nothing does, here or anywhere else — including at kappi, where a second sign-up costs a second subscription and nothing more. Account limits are not enforceable and no honest comparison should pretend otherwise. What differs is when the identity is fixed. A Darwinex Zero record starts when the membership starts, so ten memberships are ten separate records, and the nine that went badly were never part of the one being shown.

A kappi handle can be handed to someone before the trades exist: it is public, it can be the handle the trader is already known by, and every commit made after that moment lands on it. There is no per-trade hide — the switch is the whole profile — so a record named in advance cannot quietly be swapped for a luckier one started later.

That is the whole survivorship answer: give someone the handle first, and the ten-accounts question stops being about trust. Nobody has to believe the record they were shown is the only one — they watched this one from before it had any results to select.

When should you pick Darwinex Zero?

When you want outside capital, especially in their jurisdiction, and want to learn to trade on their brokerage platform of choice.

Pick Darwinex Zero also if you are happy trading inside their environment and you want the monthly DarwinIA competitions and the scoring infrastructure that comes with it.

When should you pick kappi?

When the record has to be about your actual trading, wherever you already do it, and has to outlast the company that issued it. Your notes and your trades stay yours until a time of your choosing. A commit is timestamped and sealed the moment it is made, so precedence is fixed immediately, but nothing is readable until you let it open. You decide when it becomes public; you cannot change what it says.

And at $15 a month against €45, the proof costs roughly a third as much — though they are not substitutes, so price is the least interesting difference on this page.

Frequently asked questions

Is Darwinex Zero the same as Darwinex?

No. Darwinex Zero is a monthly membership with a virtual trading account, used to build a track record. Darwinex is the live broker. Their pricing and availability differ, and the Zero membership does not require trading capital.

How much does Darwinex Zero cost?

From €45 per month as listed on their pricing page in August 2026, with monthly, yearly and three-year options. No trading capital is required — the membership is the cost.

Can I use kappi with any broker?

Yes. Commits are made from the Chrome extension, so kappi does not need your brokerage to be on a supported list, and there is no account linking or import step.

What happens to my kappi record if kappi shuts down?

The Merkle root is anchored publicly to Hedera, so anyone can still verify that the log was not altered. That is the point of anchoring it outside the company that produced it.

Let's set some records

Broker-import journals prove what you did after the fact, from data you control. kappi timestamps what you said you would do, before you knew how it would turn out, on a record you cannot edit.
