Who Publishes kappi, and How Are Its Claims Checked?

kappi is a trade recorder: it timestamps and seals a trade before the fact, then publishes it on a log anyone can check without kappi's cooperation. It is paid for by its own $15 monthly subscription, and we try to keep every number on this site either re-derived by a test or attributed to a source with a date.

What is kappi?

kappi is a trade recorder. A trader writes what they are doing in their own words, the commitment is sealed with a timestamp before the fact, and it becomes part of a public record when the time capsule opens. Broker-import journals prove what you did after the fact, from data you control. kappi timestamps what you said you would do, before you knew how it would turn out, on a record you cannot edit.

It costs $15 a month, or $12.75 a month through a referral link, and there is no free tier. That is the entire commercial relationship: no advertising, no affiliate commissions on the services compared on this site, and nothing sold on behalf of anyone else.

Who wrote these articles?

kappi did — the articles carry the company's byline rather than an individual's, because the company is what stands behind them. The entity that operates it is named on the Terms and the Privacy Policy, which are the binding version of this statement — if the three ever disagree, the legal documents are correct and this page is wrong. Questions, corrections and complaints go to support@kappi.me.

Which is worth knowing when you are weighing what you read here: there is no editorial board, and the pages are written by a company with a commercial interest in the category it describes. The response to that is not a disclaimer, it is the next section.

How is every number on this site checked?

Two rules, and there is no third category. We try to keep every figure on a page either re-derived from a formula that a test re-runs, or pointed at a URL with the date it was read.

  • Outside figures carry a receipt. A rival's price is read off that vendor's own pricing page — not a review blog, not another vendor's comparison table — and recorded with the URL and the date. Pages that quote one show a Sources block with both, and an automated check fails the build if a page quotes a sourced price without rendering its receipt.
  • Nothing is written from memory. No invented statistics, no rounded-from- recollection prices, no "studies show". Where a page cannot be written without a figure nobody has sourced, the page does not get written; the gap is recorded instead.
  • Product claims come from one place. The numbers describing how kappi works — the 1 hour to 30 days seal, the 200-day maximum on an open trade, the 11 closed trades before RME reads — are defined once and referenced, so a marketing page cannot quietly describe a better machine than the one that exists.

What can you check without trusting kappi?

Every trade command is appended to a tamper-evident log the moment it is received. kappi builds a Merkle tree of the new entries and publishes its single root hash to the public Hedera ledger. Anyone can check an exported log against those published hashes and confirm nothing was added, removed, re-ordered or back-dated — without trusting kappi.

That is the property the whole site is built to sell, so it would be strange to ask for trust while describing it. The verification does not route through kappi, does not require kappi's cooperation, and does not stop working if kappi does.

What does kappi do with a trade?

It records the commitment, and that is the whole of its involvement. Whatever you do after the call, you do wherever you already do it, entirely outside kappi. What it produces is a sealed, timestamped commitment that becomes a public record when the capsule opens, and the record is yours to share, with whoever you choose.

What standards is this aiming at?

Two that exist outside kappi, and neither is ours. kappi does not claim to be GIPS-compliant — GIPS is a firm-level standard with its own verification process. What follows is where the ideas come from. The CFA Institute's Global Investment Performance Standards define what a complete performance presentation looks like — fair representation, full disclosure, every portfolio in a composite rather than the ones that worked[1]. And Haber and Stornetta established in 1991 how to time-stamp a document so that the issuing service cannot forge the date.[2]

Those are the two properties this site keeps aiming for: completeness by construction, and a time nobody can move. Pointing at where they come from is more useful than asserting them, because both can be read by anyone who wants to check what kappi is actually aiming at.

What kappi sells is that pair, at $15 a month with no free tier: a trade committed before it resolves, sealed for a delay you choose, and published on a log a stranger can check without kappi's cooperation.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns and operates kappi?

Articles on this site carry the kappi byline. The entity that operates kappi.me is named on the Terms and the Privacy Policy. Contact for any question or correction is support@kappi.me.

How does kappi make money?

From subscriptions only — $15 a month, or $12.75 through a referral link, with no free tier. There is no advertising on this site, and no affiliate commission is earned on any of the services it compares.

Are the figures on kappi's guides checked by anyone?

They are checked by test suites that re-derive each figure from its formula rather than restating it, and by an automated audit that fails the build when a page quotes an externally sourced price without showing where it was read. Both run over every page.

How do I report an error on one of these pages?

Email support@kappi.me. A figure that turns out to be wrong is corrected at source and the correction is dated, which is the same standard the pages ask of the records they assess.

Is kappi a broker or a signal service?

Neither. kappi does not execute orders, hold funds or connect to brokerage accounts, and it does not sell or relay trade calls. It records what a trader commits to and publishes it on a log that can be checked independently.
