kappi Extension — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what the kappi browser extension (the “Extension”)
collects, how it uses that information, and what it does not do. It supplements the
kappi.me Privacy Policy and
Terms of Service. The Extension is operated by kappi.me
(David Rose). Questions: support@kappi.me.
Single purpose. The Extension has one purpose: to help a signed-in kappi user
compose and submit their own paper-trade journal entries, and to deliver those entries to their
kappi account and Matrix inbox. It is not an advertising, analytics, or tracking tool.
1. What the Extension accesses
- Trade-related text you direct it to read. On supported sites you have open
(Discord, X/Twitter, Whop, and your Matrix client such as Cinny), the Extension checks the text you
type in the message composer for trade commands so it can show a live preview and, when you
submit, turn it into a structured trade journal entry. Draft text is parsed locally on your
device; drafts you never send are not transmitted. On Discord and Whop, the Extension additionally
reads messages only in threads you have explicitly opted in with the per-thread reader toggle
(including, if you enable it, messages from one additional username you whitelist); threads
without that opt-in are never read. It does not read or collect your general browsing
history or activity on other sites.
- Your kappi session and identity. Used to authenticate you to kappi.me and to
mint the Matrix login needed to deliver your entries.
- Local extension storage. Preferences and non-sensitive state (e.g. the
connected username, settings) stored on your device via the browser
storage API.
- Trade-commands you compose. The structured trade data you submit through the
Extension’s side panel or send action.
2. How permissions are used
- Host access to
kappi.me — sign you in and authorize sending.
scripting and host access to Discord, X/Twitter, Whop, and your
Matrix client — read only the trade text you direct it to on the tab you are using.
sidePanel / offscreen — render the compose/preview UI and process
parsing off-screen.
storage — remember your settings and connection state on your device.
alarms — schedule periodic refresh of your session/delivery state.
3. How we use the information
Solely to provide the Extension’s single purpose: parse your trade text into a trade journal entry,
authenticate you, and deliver your entries to kappi.me and your Matrix inbox. We do not use it for
advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.
4. What we do not do
- We do not collect your browsing history or data from sites other than the supported ones above.
- We do not sell or rent your data, or share it with data brokers.
- We do not use the data for any purpose unrelated to the Extension’s single purpose,
consistent with the Chrome Web Store Limited Use requirements.
5. Where data goes
The Extension sends data only to: (a) kappi.me (our servers), (b) our
Matrix homeserver and, when you open it, your chosen Matrix client,
for encrypted delivery. Trade messages are delivered as end-to-end-encrypted Matrix messages; our
homeserver relays ciphertext and routing metadata and cannot read message contents.
6. Data retention and your rights
Local storage remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the Extension. Data sent to
kappi.me is retained and can be accessed, corrected, or deleted as described in the
kappi.me Privacy Policy. To exercise your rights, email
support@kappi.me.
7. Children
The Extension is intended only for adults (18+) and is not directed to children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy and will post the revised version here with a new “last updated” date.
